Chatham Christian Schools' Mission Statement
To provide Christ-centred learning in all areas of schooling for Christ-like service in all areas of life.

Mission
The Chatham Christian School Society is an academic community which is directed, in joyful faithfulness to our Lord, by an association of members and which serves Christians in Chatham and vicinity.

Philosophy of Education
The Chatham Christian Schools' philosophy of education is drawn from the Word of God and summarized beautifully in Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We are an extension of the Christian home and church, striving to nurture the whole person - mind, body, soul. Our schools are supported by a community of believers who confess that our world belongs to God, that He is Lord over all creation, and that as image-bearers we are called to be a transforming influence in the world.

History
Chatham Christian School first opened in 1957 with 93 students in a three room school house. Because of increased enrolment, additions were made to that building in 1960, 1963, and 1965. A second property was purchased in 1968 and the High School opened in 1970 with Grades 9 and 10. The first Grade 12 class graduated from Chatham Christian High School in 1977, and in 1978 gymnasiums were added to both facilities. Enrolment continued to increase, and by 1997 it became apparent that more space was needed. A decision was made to build a brand new facility rather than attempt to upgrade and enlarge the existing buildings. A major capital campaign was launched and in September, 1999, the doors were opened to a new school
that houses Kindergarten through Grade 12. The theme for that
campaign, "Building in Faith - for Him" was based on Eph. 3:20, 21, "God can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us. To Him be glory." God has truly done much more than we ever imagined and enrolment increased so dramatically during the next four years that it became necessary to put an addition on the new facility. This addition included five classrooms, a second computer lab, and a worship center that is used for chapels and assemblies, choir, drama and band practices, as well as various performances produced by both schools.

The Lord has richly blessed Chatham Christian Schools over the years: enrolment has increased to almost 300 students at the elementary school, a special education program, Kindergarten, Junior Kindergarten and band program have been added. At the high school, enrolment has increased to over 130 students, and a fully credited choir program, special education program, extra curricular activities and a full range of sports programs have been added. But by far the most important fact is that well over a thousand students have received a Christ-centred education!
